Welcome to Faith! We love to welcome visitors and would love to meet you as well!
We’re located right next to Highway 18/71 just north of Spencer. There is parking on the west and south sides of our building, with handicap accessible parking available outside the main doors on the west.
When you first walk through the door, there will be greeters ready to welcome you in, and they would be happy to point you in the direction of the fellowship area, restrooms, or anything else you might need.
We recommend you come a few minutes early – we’ll have coffee and donuts available, and we typically start announcements about five minutes prior to the service at 9:00am.
After the service, we have fellowship, which is a great time to meet and greet other members of our congregation. You can expect to be welcomed in as we like to make sure people feel like they belong!
KIDS MINISTRY
We include a children’s message during the service meant to engage with younger minds and engage them with the lessons for the day. Directly after the service at 10:20am, we offer Sunday School for kids from 3 years through high school. Kids are separated into age groups and teachers lead them through age-appropriate Bible Stories and activities. Preschool – 5th graders also have a time of music, where they learn upbeat, fun Christian songs.
MIDDLE SCHOOL MINISTRY
Middle school and high school combine on Sunday mornings for Sunday School, where they have a chance to dive deeper into their faith, ask questions, and learn together.
On Wednesday nights, we hold Confirmation classes for 6th-8th graders. An optional supper is provided at 6:00pm, with class beginning at 6:30pm. Over the course of their time in Confirmation, Confirmation students will explore in depth the Lord’s Prayer, Apostle’s Creed, the Ten Commandments, and foundations of Lutheran theology. Confirmation students are also partnered one-on-one with a mentor — an adult who will walk alongside them, encourage them in their faith journey, and be a support system for their student. Confirmation classes culminate with Confirmation Sunday in early May, when the students being confirmed will confess their faith in front of the congregation.
HIGH SCHOOL MINISTRY
High school youth group is held on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm and is a time where students have the opportunity to relax with their friends, play a game, eat some food, and study the Bible together. Since these students are past the age of confirmation, the leaders challenge them to dig deeper into their faith, ask the hard but important questions, and discover how to have a growing, vibrant faith wherever they go – school, jobs, or at home. We believe God is using everyone, so many of these students will also have the opportunity to go on short-term mission trips or serve within the church.
ADULT MINISTRIES
For the adults, we offer Adult Bible Study on Sunday mornings at 10:30am. During this time, the participants select a study book to cover, or may choose to dissect that morning’s sermon together.
There are also many Bible study groups that meet throughout the week. There is a men’s group on Saturday mornings at 7:30am, and a women’s group that meets the second Tuesday of each month at 1:30pm. Other groups meet throughout the week, and may rotate meeting at each other’s houses. Contact the church office at office@flcspencer.org to learn more and get plugged in!
